Under Pressure!

The Coaches wanted to see Benson pitch. He is quite intimidating up there on that mound! You always hear people in the stand say things like, "Whoa! That's a big 12 year old!" or, "He's 12?" Yep! Sure enough! But he will be 13 in a couple of weeks. Anyway, his pitching debut was good! He got a "K" (strikeout). He didn't like it much though. He thought it was too much pressure! He is loving baseball however! Go B!

Ahh, but just wait until he is in high school; those same parents are going to be giddy over his size and natural talent. Especially if he plays football - given that I hear that is the state religion of Texas, right?!

Boy, that sounds like a rerun of an old story.
Remember when Joseph (your brother) was "carded " at a tournament that was held in Albany, Oregon? They thought he was way over 18 and he was actually six months from his 18 birthday.
He had a hit and was on base, they called time and he had to take out his wallet and show his drivers license.
Funny note (the opossing coach was Monty Fergus) before they knew us.)
He felt pretty foolish.
I think I've said something like this before, the only thing better than baseball, is baseball with someone you love.
Some of our best memories were made on a baseball field.
And the time will come when those memories will sustain you.
So have as much fun as you can have.
Tell Benson how very much we love him.
PLAY BALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Way to go B. You can handle the pressure ok, you are a champ at heart and Grandpa thinks that you can do anything that you put your mind to. The main thing is always, HAVE FUN!!! Keep up the growth to, and next year they will fall over themselves wondering how yu could be on that team. Love you buddy.
